When Leyla was 12 and sister Sevda six, their mother died from a rare genetic disorder. They went to live with their grandmother, Belkis, and between them, Leyla and Belka raised Sevda like a princess, never letting on that she was at risk from the same disease that killed her mother. Leyla emigrated to Canada but returns to Turkey for Sevda’s wedding to Volkan.
