A Love Story focuses on Korkut, a young man living a modest life in Germany after being abandoned by his parents as a child, adopted, and later left on his own again. In Istanbul, Ceylan works as a fashion designer for the famous singer Tolga, whom she loves despite his lack of interest.
When she travels to Germany with Tolga, she meets Korkut. Still in love with his ex-girlfriend, Korkut attends her wedding in a last attempt to win her back.
During the ceremony, he is shot and later learns that he has only one year left to live. Searching for answers, he finds his biological mother, only to discover that she is living a life of luxury with her other son, Tolga. As anger and heartbreak grow, Korkut unexpectedly falls in love with Ceylan, raising the question of whether love can overcome the pain and resentment in his heart.
