There are people who need money, love, or recognition, and then there are people who need to disappear. Jerónimo Lynch, the owner of Lynch Funeral Home, is about to be arrested when he accepts Isabel Reyes’ offer to fake his own death. Their plan soon becomes a business: “Eternal Rest,” a service for people in serious trouble who want to leave their old lives behind. The company stages convincing accidental or natural deaths, arranges personalized funerals, records the burials, and provides clients with new identities in foreign countries. Officially dead, they are free to start over and enjoy a new life without anyone knowing they are still alive.
