After his daughter Miona is detained by the police alongside a notorious Belgrade dealer, architect Dejan Matić makes a life-changing decision. He leaves his job at an architectural bureau and take her to Dol, his father’s home village. Despite Miona’s resistance, he insists on his plan, hoping to distance her from bad influences and rebuild the closeness they lost as he focused on his career. They are welcomed by Dejan’s uncle Velibor, who helps them settle in and introduces them to the divided village. A wealthy returnee, Maksa, plans to cut down a forest known as “ban” to build a modern hotel complex, with the support of Borivoj, the owner of the local shop and café and the self-proclaimed “mayor” of Dol. Opposing them are Velibor and Vera Jakovljević, a local teacher and Dejan’s former love.
